Video-Review of The Shack: Where Is It?
>> Monday, June 29, 2009
I'd like to apologize and ask for your forgiveness regarding my video-review of Wm. Paul Young's, The Shack.
After much prayer and wise counsel from my husband, I will not be able to do a video review after all.
Originally, I had planned to do this, not because I felt led by the Spirit of God, but more because I am inherently a lazy, rule-follower. I know, it's a strange combination. But being that I am a lazy, rule-follower, I'm inclined to obey and do what I'm asked, but....I'm also inclined to look for the fastest and easiest way to do it. Unfortunately, when I'm not paying attention, and I feel overwhelmed by something I'm asked to do, I tend to state how I'm going to do it, without consulting with the Lord. I mean, I pray and ask God about it, I just don't stay around long enough to listen to what His answer is.
Due to this, I sometimes tend to break my word; which I am deeply sorry for. Please forgive me for being so rash and not keeping my word to you regarding the video-review.
I'm greatly grieved about this nasty sin habit of mine and have determined to be slower about giving my word, BEFORE I hear from the Lord.

I'm also going to make a PDF file of the written review so that you can print it out, read it, share it, etc. I figured this is the very least I can offer you as a biblical resource, since I was not able to keep my word to you.
Please forgive me.
Please forgive me.

6 Shared Truth in Love:
((((((hugs)))))) Love you, sweet sister.
No need to ask for forgiveness. :o) I love your tender heart...
you have such a lovely heart...
My sweet sister, Sunny....
How I love you! My husband was given this book from a friend at work and had no idea about it's contents until I asked him if he had heard anything about it and he said 'no'.
He only got so far and put it down and said ....uh no way....this is garbage. This is a man who is rooted and grounded. Our prayer is for those who are not.
Bless your sweet heart for bringing the LIGHT to this book.
Thank you for sharing with me what is going on with you physically too...I will be praying for you. Our God is the Great Healer and I'm praising Him with you for what He has done in both our lives!
Blessings to you, my sister, my friend.
You're all such precious sisters to me! Thank you so very much for your love and kindness and for forgiving me for not keeping my word.
Dearest sister Debra, I LOVE what your wonderful husband said! I shared it with my husband and he said, "Gotta love a brother like that! He must really be solid and know God's word."
I wish we all lived so much closer!
I'm still praying for you sister and thanking God for you too! Oh how good He is to us!
"I will give thanks to the LORD with my whole heart; I will recount all of Your wonderful deeds. I will be glad and exult in you; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High." ~ Psalm 9:1-2
My hubby (a pastor) had several people at church ask him about this book, as well as one other.
He read thru both books and then really felt the Lord leading him to do a sermon about this and what they were saying and what Scripture says. He has never done that before.
I can't speak for him, but basically, we cannot get our theology out of a book. We get our theology out of The Book, God's Word!
This is where we get the truth, from God Himself. There is no "new" revelation. God's Word is His final word to us and it stands the test of time.
As believers we need to be discerning, even about Christian bestsellers. especially about them. There are some popular books out there whose theology is not right.
We have to compare it all to the Word.
I hope you are feeling better, my sister!
